And now Germany

Lisbon Treaty seem to be a nightmare, a history without end... but at the same time the best tool for a 27 EU member States, specially after the "successfully" European Constitution Project.

Presidents like Vaclav Klaus and Lech Kaczynski (Czech Republic and Poland) don`t want to sign the treaty after the decission of all member states, specially before the Irish vote in a new referendum about this legal text. But today a new stone is on the way, today the German Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe aknowledge some members of the German Parliament (Die Linke and CSU, really funny two parties with very different voters and aims)
These members as well as the High German Court defend that Dr. Köhler should wait to ratify Lisbon Treaty till the two German chambers recive more power to decide about European issues, that is going to happen in the beggining of September; or I hope so!

Lisbon Treaty bring also new challenges and reforms for Germany such as: police, education... and of course more interaction between Bundestag, Bundesrat and the European Parliament. In Germany there is the political will to ratify this text, We should remember that the currently German Chancellor was almost one of the creators of this treaty. Will Merkel "punish" some of CSU (the Bayern part of CDU, Merkel`s party, though both independent)

Meanwhile in the UK, the UK Independece Party (Euro skeptical party) is celebrating the decision of the German court like the end of Lisbon Treaty. September, in the middel of the German Electoral Fever We will know who were right?
