Twittering!

Off-line almost for one week, but all has a reason in our lifes, two great and marvellous friends went to visit me some days in Bonn but of course, We visit some other places in the region as well: Brühl; Aachen; Cologne with its so famous gay parade; Monschau, a little village at Eifel`s natural park...

During this days I wasn`t just off-line from my blog, also from my new "addiction" so called Twitter. I must confess that at the beggining I was so skeptical about its use: Would it be useful for me? Is it a waste of time? Now after some days in Twitter I can say to you that with this tool I can: improve the comunication with my readers, advertise more my post, building a so necessary "European Blogging Network"... I think I took the right decision!

And now Germany

Lisbon Treaty seem to be a nightmare, a history without end... but at the same time the best tool for a 27 EU member States, specially after the "successfully" European Constitution Project.

Presidents like Vaclav Klaus and Lech Kaczynski (Czech Republic and Poland) don`t want to sign the treaty after the decission of all member states, specially before the Irish vote in a new referendum about this legal text. But today a new stone is on the way, today the German Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe aknowledge some members of the German Parliament (Die Linke and CSU, really funny two parties with very different voters and aims)
These members as well as the High German Court defend that Dr. Köhler should wait to ratify Lisbon Treaty till the two German chambers recive more power to decide about European issues, that is going to happen in the beggining of September; or I hope so!

Lisbon Treaty bring also new challenges and reforms for Germany such as: police, education... and of course more interaction between Bundestag, Bundesrat and the European Parliament. In Germany there is the political will to ratify this text, We should remember that the currently German Chancellor was almost one of the creators of this treaty. Will Merkel "punish" some of CSU (the Bayern part of CDU, Merkel`s party, though both independent)

Meanwhile in the UK, the UK Independece Party (Euro skeptical party) is celebrating the decision of the German court like the end of Lisbon Treaty. September, in the middel of the German Electoral Fever We will know who were right?

Surprise!

Long time without postting, long time without telling my opinion about what`s on, big lazyness after the European Elections... but one day you open your mail account and you just read: Best Erasmus Blog!( the official list with all winners will be posted in some days in this page) During some minutes I was thinking, did I read right? Did I read right? Yes! I can`t belive that I`m the winner in one of the cathegories of the Blog, post and video contest organiced by the European Commision.

Sometimes miracles exist and today one happened. I`m really happy with this award, of course I want to thank the European Commission Representation in Madrid for choosing my blog. Getting this award is a pleasure but also a responsability; firstable with my daily readers: postting about interesting topics, writting original ideas, etc. but also with myself: postting at least twice a week, keep on learning more about how the EU works, become a specialist in young policies...

Thanks to my readers, thanks to all of these people who`ve taught me the importance of making real the "European Dream", thanks to the "EU Blog Network" (La Oreja de Europa, Europ@s...) because I learn a lot from you and of course to the European Comission Representation in Madrid.

Today is official, here the winner`s list!

El recuento

Aunque no he votado en España me gusta saber lo que sucede en mi país, así que gracias a esta mágnifica aplicación de Soitu podremos ver minuto a minuto el recuento de votos!

Vote!!!!!!!!!!!

At 12:00 I voted in the Carl-Schurz Schule (Bonn-Germany) just 5 minutes on foot from my place. I must say to you that It was very exciting to vote for the first time in the European elections and moreover as Erasmus in a "foreign country".

The school was almost empty, just a couple of people but I should say to you that where I live there are a lot of immigrants: Turkey, Russia, Iran... If you haven`t already voted, go and cast your vote because It takes no more than 15 minutes!

Let`s see what happen today, I want to keep being optimistic but It`s not so easy! And now to relax a little bit some music from one of the greatest musicians all over the World, J.S.Bach. Yesterday I had the chance to hear this masterpiece (just cello and piano) in a church of Bonn and it was amazing! Congratulations to Bonn University Choir too, I really enjoyed the concert yesterday in Endenich!
